'In'Dependence Day

Happy Independence Day to all. When I was a giving a second thought to the previous statement, I still feel we are in the period of ‘In’ Dependence days. Even after 62 years of Independence from the Britishers, I feel we are still in dependence of the nation where poverty, illiteracy, bribe, corruption, terrorism, pollution leads the race. One cannot (should not) taste victory at the cost of other life. Here, the rich get richer, poor get still poorer. Most of the poor people are denied of their rights. Only when there is equality amongst all, I feel I can be happy of living in an independent nation. Till then I am ‘In’ Dependent nation.

Equality is just a generic term, it encompasses an umbrella of parameters( say financial, judicial, legislative etc..), and any human community can achieve equality in all areas except financial status( according to many leading anthropologists, economists and psychologists). It is just not physically possible, read "time travel". But we can( and should) thrive to make sure that the threshold for the lowermost of the financial pyramid remains very high.

@Anush: :) fact..
@Jeba: Same pinch..
@Santa: Yup, I do agree financial status differs from person to person. By equality what i meant are judicial, and basic human rights. Our society is highly biased towards the upper class. Being poor might be individuals fault, but denial of his rights is definitely not his fault. It's the country's(governments) fault. I want that equality in this nation..
